About Molly M. Carmody

Molly Carmody focuses her practice in all areas of family law, including divorce, allocation of parenting time and parental responsibilities, child support, maintenance, property division, domestic violence proceedings, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and post divorce issues. Ms. Carmody is passionate about family law and was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Using empathy and compassion, Ms. Carmody helps clients understand and navigate complex issues while working towards an outcome that is in the best interests of each client and their family. Ms. Carmody’s goal is to ensure that each client feels that their voice is heard both in and out of the courtroom, and to ease a client’s worries and concerns related to the process.

Ms. Carmody attended Loyola University of Chicago and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She then attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign College of Law where she graduated cum laude and received a CALI Excellence Award in Advanced Legal research, an award designated for the highest academic achiever in a given law course. While in law school, Ms. Carmody used her 711 License to represent children and parents in abuse and neglect cases, and participated in a Domestic Violence and Immigration clinic where she assisted victims in obtaining Orders of Protection and applying for VAWA visas.

Ms. Carmody began her career in family law as a summer intern for a large family law firm in Chicago, Illinois. After graduation, she became an associate at a family law firm, where she developed and honed her drafting, negotiating, and litigation skills. Ms. Carmody represented clients in all matters of divorce and parentage issues, as well as in domestic violence proceedings. Ms. Carmody also has experience as an Assistant Public Guardian for the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office, where she represented minors in abuse, neglect and dependency cases.

Ms. Carmody is passionate about family law and was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine every year, since 2020 (a distinction reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys in Illinois under the age of 40).
